Toyah Overton

Toyah has been involved with the Liberal Democrats since 2024, when she joined the data team supporting Charlie Maynard's successful campaign to become MP for Witney. Since then, she has turned her passion for politics into a career in campaigning, helping local Liberal Democrat teams reach residents, build stronger communities and make a positive difference.

In January 2025, Toyah began organising Liberal Democrat campaigns, going on to coordinate elections across six target County Council seats and nine target District Council seats. Her work has included campaign planning, volunteer recruitment, literature design and production, canvassing and communications. She also worked as Constituency Communications Manager for Charlie Maynard MP, managing everything from social media and press releases to newsletters and community updates.

Toyah is also an elected County Councillor, with a particular interest in education, young people and adult social care. She serves as Deputy Chair of the People Overview and Scrutiny Committee and sits on the Education and Young People Scrutiny Committee. As a disabled woman herself, with suspected hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, she is particularly passionate about improving accessibility, supporting people with disabilities and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to live a fulfilling life.

Toyah joined the Liberal Democrats because their belief in a fairer deal for everyone reflects her own values. She believes in a society that encourages everyone to grow and succeed, while ensuring that support is there for people when they need it most.

As Office Campaign Organiser for the Preseli Liberal Democrats, Toyah is responsible for campaign planning, communications and literature, including the website you're reading right now! She works closely with local councillors, candidates and volunteers to help share their work, highlight important local issues and keep residents informed. When she's not busy with politics, Toyah enjoys sewing (you may even see her wearing her handmade clothes around Fishguard & Goodwick!), playing video games with her boyfriend, Tom, or watching Star Trek with his family.
